THE PRECEPTS - Topic: UNDERSTANDING SEASONS
Bible Reading: Luke 22:35-36, 1 Kings 22:4-5.
It is important for all children of God to pray for the wisdom that can help them to read seasons of life. Not all seasons are the same, and what was relevant last season may not be relevant this new season. The instructions that you received last season may not be the instructions that you need for this season, so is important for you to develop a hearing hear to the Holy Spirit the controller of time and season.
Jesus said to the disciples the previous time I sent you out and I gave you an instruction not to take purse, scrip, nor shoes, did you lack nothing for the journey? They answered him we lack nothing. The reason why they lacked nothing was, because the provision for the assignment that time is in the away of that assignment, so they don't need to take anything with them, that time. Again in verse 36; Jesus was to send them out, and he told them not to follow the last instruction he gave to them, "BUT NOW, he that has purse should take it along". Because the provisions this time will be, what God will provide at home before they embark on the journey, so therefore they were to take those provisions with them this time as they go on the assignment.
It is the same God, but different seasons, and different methods. That is how to walk with God and not surfer or loose, if you try to build a normal life out of a special divine move of God, that is connected to a divine instruction to you last season of your life, you may may be embarrassed in the present season of your life, when actually God has wonderful things for you that you did not connect with. Jehoshaphat when he was to go with the king of Isreal to battle, he requested if they can get a prophet that can tell them what God is saying presently. 1 Kings 22:4-5, in verse 5 "And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, AT THE WORD OF THE LORD FO TODAY". There is a yesterday of your life and there is a today, and at every season you need to know what God is saying now, so as to connect to what God is doing now.
May you receive that heart like Jehoshaphat to always learn how to connect to the word of God for now, for each seasons of your life.
