Topic: UNDERSTANDING WORSHIP
Bible Reading: John 4:19-24.
The Spirit of the Lord laid this on my heart to share with to encourage and supply you understanding in the face of ban by on gathering in worship places. For to understand that your worship must grow beyond location but to start deep in your spirit.
Many gathered in churches, claiming to worship God, but indeed they worshipped the God they do not know. They are very religious and perform all the rituals but with no revelation nor understanding of what they do. There is no fruits that shows they have met God, every indications shows they don't know the God they claim to worship.
The woman by the well of Samaria asked Jesus where should we worship, because I am confused, my people from Samaria said it is in Samaria we must worship, but the Jews said it is in Jerusalem, but I perceived you are a prophet, and you can tell us what is the mind of God about this matter. And Jesus said to her, the reason why you asked this question is about right place of worship is because, YOU DO NOT KNOW WHO YOU WORSHIP.
Worship to God does not start with a location, but with revelation, because it is a matter of the spirit, he that will worship God must worship him in spirit and truth, for such the Father is seeking to worship him. Things you need to know about worship to God;
1. Know that God is looking for worshippers. The Father is hungry for true worshippers. Worship in Greek word is called "proskuneo" which means "to kiss the hand of one as a token of reverence". Also means "to fall upon the knees and touch the ground or to prostrate in order to express respect."
Now Jesus said this must not just be something from outside but from your inside, not from your head but your spirit, so the things you do physically in worship must be the expression of what is in your spirit.
God is looking for those who will respect Him, kiss His hands to show him reverence, but it must be done in the spirit first before it will be an acceptable act because God is a spirit.
2. Understand the personality of who you worship. Reason why expressions of many in worship to God are wrong is because they do not know who they worship. If they know him, the spirit would have positioned them correctly and their postures would be right. Your knowledge about the Lord will determine how your worship to him will be. Therefore, if you understand worship and you know God, the on going decree of government ban on church gathering must not stop your personal worship unto the Lord. When we personally becomes strong in our worship to God, we will become powerful whenever we meet together. The bless you as you take all areas of your life as a personal worship unto God on daily basis in Jesus name.
Prayer Point: Pray that God will give you revelation of Himself so that your worship of Him will be in understanding and become very strong.
