Topic: WORSHIPING THE UNKNOWN
Bible Reading: John 4:19 - 24.
Many gathered in churches, claiming to be worshiping God, but indeed many of them worshipped the God they do not know. They are very religious and perform all the rituals but with no understanding, in examining the life of many, by the fruits they produced, every indications showed that they don't know the God they claim to worship.
The woman by the well of Samaria asked Jesus where should we worship, because I am confused, my people from Samaria said it is in Samaria we must worship, but the Jews said it is in Jerusalem, but I perceived you are a prophet you can tell us what is the mind of God about worship. And Jesus answered her, the reason why you asked this kind of question is because you're confused, YOU DO NOT KNOW WHO YOU WORSHIP. Worship to God does not start at a location first, but a matter of the spirit, he that will worship God must worship him in spirit and truth, for such the Father is seeking to worship him. Things to know about worship that will help you are;
1. Know that God is looking for worshippers. The Father is hungry for true worshippers. Worship in Greek word is called "proskuneo" which means to kiss the hand of one as a token of reverence. Also means to fall upon the knees and touch the ground or to prostrate in order to express respect.
Now Jesus said this must not just be something from outside but from your spirit, so the things you do physically in worship must be the expression of what is in your spirit.
God is looking for those who will respect Him, kiss His hands to show him reverence, but it must be done in the spirit first before it will be acceptable because God is a spirit.
2. Understanding the person you're worshipping. Reason why expressions of many in worship to God are wrong is because they do not know who they worship. If they do know their spirit would have been positioned well and the postures would have been right when they get to his presence to worship him.
Prayer Point: That God will give you true revelation of God that result in true worship of him in life.
