THE PRECEPTS - Topic: GIVE YOUR LIFE DIRECTION
Bible Reading: James 3:1-4
The Holy Ghost through James compared our tongue to many things. He compared it to be like the bits in the horses' mouth that is use to bridle her whole body. He likened it again to be like a helm or steering wheel that is use to control big ships. He also compared it to a small fire that burn down a great bush. That is the mystery behind this thing called tongue, is one of the smallest parts of the body, but it does great things, either good or bad, positive or negative. But the joy of it is that you can choose what you want the tongue to do in your life, either to damage it or repair it.
I like to use the example of the helm of a big ship to bring out my lesson for today, and in doing this I will state some facts about the ship.
First facts about the ship, is that they are in sizes, and most times they are usually very big. Some are so big they can carry several numbers of cars. I once heard of a ship size in a commentary sometimes ago which was said to be twice of a particular popular stadium in England.
Second facts is that the movement of the ship is propelled by the strong wind on the sea. The wind is the one that helps the ship going to keep going.
Third facts is that a small helm or steering wheel in the ship is the one that determines for the ship the direction it has to go as listed by the sailor of the ship.
The word of God now compares our life, our destiny, marriage, finance, visions, health, all our projects to be like the big ship. And the conditions we find ourselves in life many times is like being in the wind, which sometimes can be favorable or unfavorable. Every individual is the Sailor of the ship of their personal life, and steering wheel you need to to give your life direction is your tongue.
So no matter the condition you find yourself in life, it is like the wind on the sea, it can only helps the movement of the ship it has no power to determine the direction it will go. There is no condition in life that has the power to tie you down or take your life to where you don't want it to go. You are the sailor of the ship of your destiny, you are the one that has the power to determine the direction you want the ship of your destiny to go, all you need is to turn the steering wheel towards the direction you want your destiny ship to go, and the wind of life will carry it towards that direction. What many sailors in there own destiny do is that they look at the wind of life and turned thier ship of destiny towards the direction the wind is blowing, until their destiny hit a rock on the sea of life and sink there. I counsel you today to stop looking to wind and giving up to it to determine the direction your destiny ship should go, rather, start looking at the destination and follow the navigator as listed by the original owner of your destiny ship, that is God. Keep your focus on the word of God, read it to know where God said you are going, and how to get there, then turn the steering wheel of your mouth towards that direction and start moving, you will get there soon. Be it your life, health, marriage, finance, career, business, lives of your children etc. The wind of life does not have power to determine where your life goes or how is going to end, the power to determine that is in your hand, you are the sailor of your destiny ship, use your steering wheel well, turn it to where you want your life to go, by engaging your mouth in your destiny. Stop looking at the happenings around you, that is the storm. Say what you want to see, and stop saying what you see, because what you see might not be what you want to see. But as you begin to say what you want to see with your mouth, your life will start to change direction to what you have been saying, and you will see what you have been saying. But for you to use your mouth well and correctly, you need to study very well the word of God, and keep it in your heart daily as your destiny navigator, then begin to say what God has said about your life, and you will certainly end up in the glorious destiny that God has already created for your destiny.
Prayer Point: Cancel every negative things you have brought on your life by your mouth, and pray for grace to take responsibility over your destiny by your mouth.
