Bible Reading: Matthew 27:45-50, 54, Habakkuk 1:12-13, 1 Corinthians 5:22.
The trouble of man start with sin from Adam, when God created the world God has to do the cross checking and concluded that all things were very good, not very bad. But where did we have all these trouble? The scripture said in chapter 5 of Romans verse 12, "Wherefore, as by one man SIN ENTERED into the world, and DEATH BY SIN; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" Anytime sin is on ground then invitation has been sent to death. Death does not only mean lack of breath in a man, it is the permanent end of anything, either health, blessing, prosperity, life of God etc. So sickness is the death of health, poverty is the death of prosperity. Sin is what cuts man away from God and all good things that God has for man. God will always look away from a sinner, not that God hates sinners but He hates sin in the life of a sinner. Habakkuk 1:12 says, "Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and CAN NOT LOOK ON INIQUITY:". Not even Jesus was spared in this. For him to save the world he has to carry the sins of the world on himself, I mean sins of generation past, generation present and generations yet unborn, Jesus carried all our sins on himself and died on the cross to pay the debt of our sins all. Isaiah 53:6 says; "the LORD HATH LAID ON HIM THE INIQUITY OF US ALL...." Also 1st Corinthians 5:22 says; "FOR HE HATH MADE HIM SIN FOR US, WHO KNEW NO SIN; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." This was what Jesus became to save the world. So when he was on the cross, God has to look away from Jesus because he looked away from the sins of the world on him, and that is why Jesus shouted "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?". The same way it is now, that God will not look towards the sin in the life of a sinner. If you want to enjoy God and good things he has in store, then deal with sin in your life. Two ways to deal with sin are firstly, to repent and submit your life to Jesus, and let him become Lord over your life, is called being born again. Secondly, life a righteous life by follow the instructions of the word of God and the Holy Spirit on daily basis.
Prayer Point: Pray that the blood of Jesus washes away your sins and the righteousness of Jesus be well rooted in your life in Jesus name.
