Topic: THE CANDLE OF THE LORD.
Bible Reading: Proverbs 20:27, Psalm 18:28.
Many times we desire to walk in line with what God has planned for us, but it looks so complicated to us. But God did not plan it to be difficult for his children to walk daily in His plan, we only need to understand the tools that God has given us to do that. David said in Psalm 18:28,
"For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness."
God does not want us to be in the dark as far His will for our life is concerned, therefore, He gave us a Candle manufactured by Him, and the candle could only be lightened up by God, but we have a responsibility of going to God to light up our candle.
Now, what is this candle that God gave us? That is our HUMAN SPIRIT. Proverb 20:27 says; 27
"The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly."
This candle helps you to see into God's plan for your life. God reveals his will to us through our spirit, because God is Spirit and those who will relate with Him can only do it by the their recreated spirit. John 4:24. And Paul said in Romans 8:16 that, the Spirit of God communicates to our spirit that we are the children of God. But why is it that not everybody on earth hears God or know God's will, since it is everyone that has human spirit? Reason is that, until a man is born again his/her spirit cannot be lightened as David said in Psalm 18:28. The spirit is dead as far as God is concern, so he/she can never relate with God who is Spirit, and that begins when a person is genuinely born again. And ones the spirit is not born again it can't be lightened, it is then useless, a man with a candle which has no light in the dark, is not different from a man in dark with no candle at all, the two of them has no light to help them in the dark..
After you are born again and your candle(spirit) is lightened, you are now from then to take responsibility on daily basis to make sure that the light does not go out of your candle through your daily fellowship with God, and the more you get better and get consistent with your fellowship with God the brighter the light on your candle. And the brighter the light on your candle(spirit), the easier it is for you to pick what God is saying and you can walk perfectly in the will of God for your life.
Prayer Point: Pray that God will keep lightening your candle, and pray that God will give you grace to take responsibility for your spiritual development on daily basis.
