DAILY PRECEPTS DEVOTIONAL STUDY
Topic: PLENTY IN THE MIDST OF SCARCITY
Bible Reading: Genesis 47:11-13.
"Joseph nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his father’s household, with bread, according to their families."
When Joseph became the Prime Minister in Egypt, on one occasions when famine became severe his brethren came to the land of Egypt to buy food, eventually, they got to know that their brother is now a head in Egypt. They all moved down to Egypt, and when they got there, Pharaoh commanded that Israelites be given the best place of the land, so they were given land of Goshen. On top of that, Joseph fed Israelites with bread that was enough for the people to eat, he supplied them bread to eat according to the numbers of the people so they don't have to share bread, because they have it enough. But the Bible said there was no bread in the land of Egypt for the Egyptians. That was their land where they grew up from, land of thier nativity, but due to severe famine that was going on, there was no bread for them to eat. In fact the little available for them to share, they will still have to beg to buy, though, they have the money to buy, but there was no bread for them, and they were starving to death.
Within the same land it was a different experience for the Israelites, though, they were stranger there, but because they belong to God, there was enough bread for them in a strange land, they don't even labour that much, they don't have to pay for it, they enjoyed plenty of bread free of charge.
Therefore, you as a child of God, if you know God through Jesus Christ the Lord, you are to live in the abundance of the provisions of your father. He is the one feeding the birds of the air, they are so numerous, they don't sow nor reap, but your father is feeding them. I want you to stop complaining of scarcity and start finding out what you have to do to connect yourself to the abundance of God's provisions for you and your people.
Pray Point: Pray that God will open your eyes to his provisions prepared for you, and God will connect you to men that will connect you to your provisions.
