Topic: UNDERSTANDING DIVINE PRESENCE
Bible Reading: Exodus 33:1-4.
The presence of God is one uncommon experience that money cannot buy. Is a gift of God that has no comparison. Every one that has done great things in life seen in the scripture achieved it because God's presence was with them. The scripture says concerning Joseph, that God was with Joseph and whatever he does, The Lord made it to prosper. Even as a slave boy in Potiphar's house and in prison as a prisoner he prospered. The Lord said unto Isaac in Genesis 26, that he should stay in a land called Gerra where there was famine, and God promised to be with him. And when Isaac planted in Gerra despite no rain, his farm yielded and he got hundred fold return the same year, because The Lord blessed him. So important was God's presence that God promised it to Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Joshua and so on. Even Jesus could not operate well on earth without the presence of God. Acts 10:38 said that God with Jesus.
Now as much important as God's presence is, but you must understand what the presence of God can not go with. God said to Moses to tell the Isrealites, that as they go to possess the promise land, He would send His Angel to go with Isreal but His presence in person will not go with them. Why? Because they are stiffnecked people, they are stubborn and if He goes with them, they will do things that will get Him angry and He would destroy them on the way. So as not wipe them out, He decided to withdraw His presence from them. We need to check our lives and be sure that we don't have in us a life style that God's presence cannot go with. Be a person that God can correct by INSTRUCTION and not by DESTRUCTION. Be a person that respond to the word of God willingly, not a person that must be forced to listen and to obey it. Psalm 32:8-9 says, "The LORD says, "I will instruct you. I will teach you the way that you should go. I will advise you as my eyes watch over you. DON'T BE STUBBORN like a horse or mule. They need a bit and bridle in their mouth to restrain them, or they will not come near you." (God's Word Version)
Prayer Point: Pray that God will help you to have in your life what the presence of God can walk with.
