THE PRECEPTS - Topic: DO FOR ME FIRST
Bible reading:1 Kings 17:8-16, Matthew 6:31-33.
God said to Elijah, go to Zarephath, the one that belong to Zidon, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain you there. But it was so surprising that the same woman that God said I have commanded to give you food, has no much food at home, but she was down to her last meal enough only for her and her son.
When Elijah opened her to God's demand placed on her, though she was in a need herself, yet she yielded to God to take up the divine assignment of taking care of Elijah the Servant of God. And by her obedience to God, she triggered the grace of God, that make available for her, more than enough of the resources she needed to do the assignment God was giving her in sustaining Elijah, and in doing that divine assignment, God also met her need, she has enough to take care of herself, her son, and all her household.
So anytime God places a demand on you to do anything for Him, either to give to his work or God wants to give you any kingdom assignment and it look like you don't have enough resources for it naturally, then, understand that it is because God want to pass that resources to help your life, that is why He chooses you to pass the resources through you. And as you release the resources to the assignment God is giving you, He will also move supernaturally to get to you the same resources which is for your own personal need.
All the same, do not forget that the principle that work here to experience this supernatural supply is the principle of DO FOR ME FIRST. If you do for God first,He will bless your life supernaturally, and you will have more than enough to do all that you want to do for yourself.
Three things that moved God to give the widow woman of Zarephath such unexpected assignment was that:
1. God saw her need: She was in need of a means of sustainance during the famine. And God gave her assignment to sustain His servant. Reason why God gives you assignment in the area of your need is because He wants to move to meet your need.
2. God saw that she has a seed: Though, little and the last for her, but it was enough to start with in the assignment God is given her. It may not be enough for the assignment but it is good to start with.
3. God saw her faith: It takes faith and total trust God, for her to let go of her last meal, but her faith was the ladder to cross from where she was to where she desired to be.
If you too can act in faith to obey God, and you lunch into the assignment God has for you. Then, start with God in faith, God will take you through, and supply to your needs for the rest of the journey. All you need to know, is when your need clashed with divine demand on you, learn to do for God first.
