Topic: MAN OF GOD OR GOD OF THE MAN, WHO DO YOU KNOW?
Bible Reading: Exodus 32:1, 2 Timothy 2:3-4.
One thing God want all of us to do is to come to the knowledge of the truth about God. Because the truth set free, and Jesus is the truth. For you to learn to know God, God gives you a man through whom you will learn to know him, and that is the man will call man of God. But it is possible to loose sight of learn to know God, that the only thing you know is the man of God and not God of the man. If you know a man of God but you don't know the God of the man, at a junction of your life you will become an idol worshipper.
God gave people of Israel Moses to lead them from Egypt land of bondage to the land of promise, and that through Moses Israel might learn to know the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. But despite all the signs, wonders, miracles, they saw, despite the laws that was given to Israel, they didn't know God of Moses, they only know Moses.
And the day God summoned Moses for a meeting on the mountain for forty days, children of Israel thought that Moses could not come back to them, they raised another God from gold and silver for themselves.
They said, as for this Moses, the man that brought us from Egypt, we don't know what has happened to him.
That means all this while, they thought Moses was acting on his own, the power was his own, and if he dies, the power dies with him, so they knew Moses the Man of God, but never know the God of Moses. That's why God said in Psalm 103:7, I make my ways known unto Moses, but his acts unto the children of Israel. You need to determine today, what you want to learn, do you just want to know a man of God, his dressing, hairstyles, phonetics, methods, or you want to know the God of the man.
The reason why you see those mighty acts of God through that man, is that God is sending you a signal, what I do with this man, I can do the same through your life. If you are not learning to know God through a man of God, you will become so religious and later become an idol worshipper, the day that man is not there in person. You will worship his methods; mantles, handkerchiefs, anointing oil, prayer water, book of Psalms, and many other such things, or you even go diabolical. When you learn methods from a man of God, but you don't know the God of the methods, you will be an idol worshipper.
Know today, that God gave you men of God, so you can learn to know God through them. If a man of God is not showing you God but himself, he is called a robber by Jesus in John 10:1, and from such men run away. Let God link you to a man through whom you can learn to know God intimately, then God will show you his ways and give you his methods of producing signs and wonders. Paul said follow me as I follow Christ. The man you are following, who is he following. May the Lord open your eyes and make you wise to know what you are learning from who you are following.
Prayer Point: That spirit of wisdom will rest on you, that you will lean the right things of God from men of God.
