Topic: BE CAREFUL OF OFFENSE
Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 26:7-23, John 7:19-23.
This statement came on my heart sometimes ago, the Lord said to me, YOU'RE NOT RESPONSIBLE TO GOD FOR WHAT MEN DO TO YOU, YOU'RE ONLY RESPONSIBLE TO GOD ON HOW YOU RESPOND BASED ON WHAT MEN HAVE DONE TO YOU.
We have to learn this great lesson from the response of David to King Saul during his trial for the throne. For no reason, only because David assisted the army of Israel to kill Goliath, he suddenly turned out to be a criminal, was treated like a man who has committed felony, all because of the envy and jealousy of Saul. As a result of this he became a fugitive in his father's land. On one of these occasions David had an opportunity to take revenge from Saul in the cave by killing him, if he killed Saul this will avail him the opportunity to put end to his fugitive experience which would have given him peace of mind, and would have also hasting his enthronement as the next king of Israel. Despite all these, David preferred to allow those benefit to go rather getting them under the canopy of the spirit of offense. His servant also moved him to kill Saul, but he said I shall not lay my hands against anointed of God. This was the reason why the coup of Absalom over David could not succeed, if David killed Saul, Absalom would have killed him too, for what a man sow shall he also reap.
We all need to learn this great lesson on how to overcome the spirit of offense, no matter what anyone has done against you, forgiveness brings healing, deliverance, and remove obstacles ahead of you. One of the major test that Satan will bring to you and you must pass, is the test against the spirit of offense. Offense was what cut off the head of John the Baptist, with all the anointing on his life, his head was removed by the spirit of offense through the hand of Herodias. If anyone wrong you, do not allow it to stay, forgive and let go, so that you will not put stumbling block on your way by your own self, I pray for you today that spirits of offense will not collect your head off in destiny in Jesus name.
Prayer Point: Pray that God will get rid of the spirit of offense, unforgiveness and bitterness away from your life, and baptized you with the grace and Spirit of forgiveness in Jesus name.
