Topic: RECEIVING MORE THAN YOU NEGOTIATE.
Bible Reading: Ephesians 3:20, 1 Kings 3:5-11.
The word of the Lord says in Ephesians 3:20 "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us"
This means there is no limit to God's ability to do anything for us, He is not going to do it in a small way but in greater measures than what you can ask or think. Knowing that God has this great ability to do all things and more, why then do many believers still don't receive what they ask for? The reason is simple because we only live a Christian life that ask and desire things for ourselves alone.
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Did you see the reason why many did not receive from God what they asked? Because they ask to consume it unto their own personal earthly desires. I want you to know that the day you are ready to release your life as a living sacrifice unto God, and allow God to through you meet the needs of others, then come and see how much God will release his ability to all your needs and answer all and beyond your prayer points.
Look at what God did for Solomon after he placed one thousand sacrificial offering before the Lord. The next day God appeared to him in the dream and said ask for anything you want me to do. Then Solomon said to God in 1 Kings 3:9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart TO JUDGE THY PEOPLE, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? Look at the heart of Solomon for requesting for understanding, is so that he can do well the work of leadership that God assigned him.
We need to learn from this, that it is important to tailor our requests and prayer points towards the assignments that God has put into our trust, rather than troubling heaven only for our own personal agenda. In fact God said to Solomon as much as you did not ASK FOR THYSELF long life, nor riches nor life of your enemies. Do you know these are mainly the prayer point of many prayer meetings in many Churches today, no wonder many did not received answer. Let us begin to direct our hearts and desire toward the assignments that God has given us to be a blessing to others, and our prayer points should be emanating from this, then we will see how great is the power of our God to answer prayers. When we do this, we will not only get what we request for but far more than it. Solomon asked for wisdom, and God said your speech pleased me, I fall in love with your request, therefore, I have given you what you asked for, and what you do not asked for also I have given you. By that heart of Solomon he got from God more than what he negotiated for. I pray for you that anytime you pray henceforth, may your request pleased the Lord, so that you can get more than you negotiate for.
Prayer Points: Pray that God will baptized you with the heart that loved him, that your will get lost in His own for your life in Jesus name.
