Topic: GIVING, BUT NOT BLESSED.
Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians. 13:1-5.
The scripture recommend for us that, to be blessed, you must be a giver. The Scripture in Acts said It is more blessed to give than to receive. This shows the power of giving. But you must understand that the fact that you give does not mean you will be automatically be blessed, except that your giving met certain spiritual conditions. And the one of such is that if your giving does not come out of love it is in vain, it profit you nothing. Paul said it is possible to give all you have, to the extent that you submit your body to be burnt, and yet in all these giving not to have love, he said it is in vain. It is possible to give without love, but it is not possible to love without giving.
You don't need much pressure to give when you are in love. God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son. John 3:16. Solomon loved The Lord and gave to The Lord One Thousand burnt offering. 1kgs.3:3. David said I have given all and above all to The Lord, because of my affection or love for the house of my God. Reason why you have not be able to sacrifice to The Lord your life, time, skills, money, properties, is because you lack love for Him. For what you love you sacrifice for, and sacrifice or giving without love brings you no blessing in life.
The Macedonia Church was still giving to the Lord even in their deep poverty, why? Because they have already given themselves to the Lord, they were sold out to God totally. People complained they don't serve the Lord because they don't have time, but the truth is that it is because they lack true love for the Lord. We always find time to do what we want to do. The same go with your money for the Lord, pray today for the baptism of love for the Lord and your dealings with Him will change forever, and then, your work for the Lord will be out of love, and your work of love shall be rewarded.
Prayer Points: Pray that the love for the Lord will be shed abroad in your hearts by the Holy Ghost in Jesus name.
