Topic: CREATING ALTAR TO ALTER.
Bible Reading: Genesis 8:18-21.
Let's look at the definitions of the homophone words in the topic today, that is ALTAR and ALTER.
Altar can be defined as a place of offering sacrifice to God or gods. It's a point of contact in the natural where a certain effect is made in realm of the spirit, which affects life of a person, group of people or community in the natural.
Alter is defined by English Dictionary is define as to make a deference, make an alteration, to modify, cause a change to something etc.
You read in the bible regularly about patriarchs of faith building altar after a certain encounter with God. Starting from Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the rest.
Now look at Noah in Genesis 8:20-21;
20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
After Noah came out of the Ark, he built an alter unto The Lord and offered burnt offering there to God, when the Lord smell the sweet odour of the sacrifice from the altar, then, God reacted and God's reaction brought an alteration or modification on his decision of destroying the world. Noah by the altar was able to altered or modified God's anger on human race. So God said that (1) He will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake. (2).God said He will not again smite any more every living thing on the earth. That shows us the great importance of altar and how it can alter things. If building an altar can alter what God decided to do, how much more shall your altar altered the evils that the devil plans to do against your destiny. Therefore, build an altar with God in your daily prayer life of strong fellowship this done by prayer and the word of God, this is also called "quiet time". And let your whole life be the sacrifice upon the altar and let it bring a sweet smell unto the Lord. And you can from there control anything in the spirit to get the delivery of what you desire in the natural.
Prayer Points: Pray that God will give you grace to take responsibility for your life in building strong and true altar for your destiny.
