Bible Reading: Genesis 30:25-30.
"And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the Lord hath blessed me for thy sake."
This is a story of the incidents between Jacob and Laban, Jacob worked with Laban for over 21years and this day he deemed it fit to go and established for himself. Therefore, he went to his boss, Laban, and tendered letter of resignation. Then the boss started begging Jacob not to resign, for he has learned by spiritual consultation that the increase that has happened to his business was because Jacob was there.
Anytime I read the statement of Laban to Jacob I do asked myself who is then the boss among the two? Laban said to Jacob “if I have found favour in thine eyes”. I thought it should have been Jacob begging for favour before Laban, who was the owner of the business, the CEO, he was the one paying the salary of Jacob, yet at this time the man confessed to Jacob, please I need your favour, because everything that has been happening in my businesses are because of what you carry.
I therefore, want to use this teaching to admonish you this morning, that you should concentrate more on the spiritual reality that you need to carry for the world to respond to you positively. A lot of time we concentrate on how we look to men, and neglect what we should carry to make men honour us, and therefore, we surfer as if God does not exist.
If you carry what you need to carry, no matter the level where you are starting life from, you will certainly climb to the top. I want to challenge you today, to start a life and concentrate more on practices that will increase grace and favour of God over your life. As you go today, may the doors of life open to you without stress in Jesus name.
Prayer Point: Pray that God will help you to concentrate more on things that will make you carry and increase forces on your life that makes life to open up to you in Jesus name.
