DAILY PRECEPTS DEVOTIONAL STUDY
Topic: START SMALL AND END BIG Part 4.
Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, Job 8:5-7.
Happy weekend to you my reader of this Daily Precept Devotional Study. We've been looking at this topic for few days now as laid on my heart by the Lord. Today will look at the last point on what to do when you start small to end big in life. There are many other points but these few are the ones on my heart for us to consider. The first point is Humility, second is a Thankful heart, and third is Prayer, 1 Chron.4:8-9 says;
And Jabez CALLED ON THE GOD OF ISRAEL, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and ENLARGE MY COAST, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
Now here is a man that life has treated him so badly that his mum named him sorrow due to the incidents around his birth, no matter what happens no parent does that today. But that was the situation of this man named Jabez (Sorrow).
But this man looked at his life and decided he must end it big in life, therefore, he prayed and he got result that changed his life totally. Someone will say but am praying too, why is it that nothing is changing for me? Prayer will not work except it's prayed the correct way.
The scripture says Jabez called on the God of Israel, this sounds to me that Jabez didn't just jumped into prayer, he did prayed after making research from the covenant. He read about a man called Jacob but when God was to bring him a turn around, it happened after God changed the man's name. So he too having a similar challenge pick on that and approach the same God that changed Jacob to Israel for his own life to change.
Many pray out of fear and worry, others do out of ignorance about the God they are calling, some pray in complaint and grumbling, these ones will never bring result. Only a prayer prayed by faith in the God of the covenant that will bring positive result in life. The covenant you lay hold on in prayer for a change must be in line with the area of your challenges in life. James 1:6 says But let him ASK IN FAITH....., James 5:15 says PRAYER OF FAITH shall save..... So it takes faith in the covenant of God to have result in prayer.
"IF THOU WOULDEST SEEK (Search the scriptures) UNTO GOD betimes, and MAKE THY SUPPLICATION (based on your findings pray) TO THE ALMIGHTY; ........Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase." Job 8:9,10
This is the counsel from Job, this was the secret on how he came out of the attack of the Devil that brought him down, but the man rose back to a very high level in his days. No matter how low your life is today, if you can engage these things your level in life shall definitely change for good. Something great is happening to you soon, and your testimony is around the corner in Jesus name.
Prayer Point: Bind spirit of slumbering that attack a man's prayer life, and recieve baptism of the spirit of prayer and supplication.
