Bible Reading: 1 Samuel. 4:1-11, 5:1-12.
There are things that the presence of God will effect in a man's life experience. In Genesis 39, Joseph was brought down, but God's presence never left him, and with time it became visible to Portiphar and his household that the Lord was with Joseph, because it shows in all that he did, for whatever he did, the Lord made it to prosper in Joseph hands. And by force, Portiphar has to change his level from a mere servant to managerial post, because of the presence of God with him.
But why many believers today who claimed to know God, does not have these visible manifestations God's presence? It is because, to see the manifested presence of God, God expected a relationship to be birthed between you and Him. And that relationship, is expected to be managed well.
In the scripture we read for today, we saw the people of Israel been defeated in a battle by the Philistines many times, and in other to get victory over their enemy, they went and brought the ark of covenant, which symbolizes the presence of God. But to their surprise the enemy defeated them again in the presence of the presence of God (ark of covenant). Why? Because they have violated the term of the relationship between them and God. But interestingly, what the ark of Covenant which is the symbol God's Presence, could not do with Israel against the enemy, the presence of God did single handedly against the Philistines, without the support of anyone, to tell them that it was not the presence of God that lost it's power, it was the people of Israel that lost their relationship, fellowship and consecration with God.
Therefore, for you to keep enjoying the manifested presence God, you must understand the term of your relationship with God, based on your love for the Lord and protect your love for Him and never violate it. May you continue to enjoy the manifested presence of God in your life in Jesus name.
Prayer Point: Pray that God will show you what he wants from you that will attract His presence to your life. God will help you to keep it working in your life in Jesus name.
