THE PRECEPTS - Topic: POWERFUL TRUTHS YOU SHOULD KNOW - Part 3
Bible Reading: 1 John 4:4,2 Kings 6:8-17.
From the past editions of The Precepts few weeks ago, we started a topic on "The powerful truths you should know about yourself in Christ". When you are in Christ you are not an ordinary person any more, but the devil always robbed us of our rights in God because we are ignorant of the truth about ourselves. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says if any man be in Christ he is a new creature (a new species of human being). That is why this teaching is important to you. And last two editions we observed the first and second truth, these are; first, YOU ARE OF GOD. If you are born of again you are born of God and that makes you to be of God, and not of yourself nor of your parents, you are originally owned by God. God takes cares of you in every areas of your life. The second truth you should know is that YOU HAVE OVERCOME THEM. Mind you the scripture didn't say you are going to overcome later, or you are trying to overcome, neither did it say you may overcome them. No! It says You have overcome them. No wonder Paul by the Spirit said we are more than conqueror. Understand it today that no matter what your experiences are, know that you have overcome them, but it becomes very important to know how to enforce your position as an overcomer on your circumstances, and the way to enforce your position is through your faith. The third truth you should know is that GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU. 1 John4:4 says;
"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world".
The verse above shows that the result of the first and second truth is determine by the level of your understanding and revelation of the third one, that is, who is in you. Paul in his letter to Onesimus in Philemon 1:6, "That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus". It means if your faith will work well, it will be determined by you recognizing every good thing in you in Christ. Who is with you and in you is more important than who is against you. Until you have the knowledge of who is in you, who is outside you will keep threatening and suffering you in life. Know it today that it does not matter who is outside you to be against you, who is in you is greater in all ramifications than he that is in the world. When Syrian Army sent Soldiers to go and arrest Elisha, they came in the night and surrounded where he was, in the morning as the servants of the man of God opened the window, out of panic of what he saw, he shouted my father we are finished, but the man of God was not moved, he just calm his servant down and said don't be afraid, it does not matter who is against us, those with us are more than those with them. The difference in reaction of the man of God and his servant to the situation on ground was not based on their heights nor ability to fight the Army of Syria, but it was based on the different in the knowledge they have, the servant had knowledge of who were against them, but Elisha had knowledge of who are for and with them. When he prayed and God opened the eyes of the servant and he too saw who are with them, he was also calm and stop panicking. Our problem today is that most children of God had more knowledge and fear of who is against them more than who is for them. They believe and have more respect for he that is in the world than He who is in them. So their prayer points and attitude to live are factor of fear of who is against them, and so they end up being a looser in life even when they claim to be very prayerful. But I am bringing you this truth today that He that is in and with you is greater than he that is in the world. Don't be afraid of the one in world rather be bold by the understanding of who is in you. With these understanding you are bound to win in life. Go and enjoy an overcoming life. God bless you.
