THE PRECEPTS - Topic: PRAYING CORRECTLY PART 2. (PRAYER IS "WHEN" NOT "IF")
Bible Reading: Matthew 6:5-7, Luke 18:1-8.
The first point we observed that makes prayer to be answered is right motives. Let your motives for praying be that God will be glorified and to fulfill your God's given purpose on the earth.
The second points is to that learn that prayer is a matter of "WHEN" not "IF". When you will pray I can't determine but it is a must that you must pray daily. Jesus said repeatedly in vs.5a, 6a, 7a, "And when thou prayest". This is to tell you that prayer is not a matter of "if" I pray, no, it is a matter of "when" you pray. Meaning prayer is a must not just a choice, you must pray, but the time you will pray is what we can tell, because failure to pray, that life will surfer. For you to have a good relationship with God, be a powerful Christian, to experience a life of victory, blessings etc, you must pray.
Jesus said in Luke 18:1, ....men ought to ALWAYS PRAY, and not to faint. The scripture said about the Apostle in book of Acts so as to set Peter free from the prison from the captive of Herod in Acts 12:5 says, ....PRAYER WAS MADE WITHOUT CEASING.... Paul said to the Thessalonians Church in 1 Thess.5:17 PRAY WITHOUT CEASING. He also gave us as part of the enumerated weapons of our warfare in Ephesians 6:18a that we should be PRAYING ALWAYS.
So prayer is not a matter of "if you pray" but a matter of "when you pray". You can't have a victorious life by praying once a while, instead you must make prayer to be part of your life. Reason why many do not enjoy always the miraculous hand of God, is because they don't pray always. I challenge you today to create a lifestyle of a good personal prayer life with God on daily basis, and you will begin to see the wonders of God in your life.
